Hydrospeed

Hydrospeed is a relatively recent sport: born in France as swimming in rough water, it quickly spread throughout Europe thanks to the great excitement it can provide to capable swimmers. It’s made of a short hull with specific handles that you are supposed to hold while directing it with the flippers on your feet. This increases the floating of the person and allows to follow white water lines similar to those you would do with a kayak in descending rapids of all kinds.

The Soča, especially in the sections near our head office, between the Boka waterfall and the Napoleon bridge in Kobarid is one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe to discover with the Hydrospeed, thanks to its big rocks, wild currents along with turquoise pools to rest in.

Lying on the water with our Hydrospeed float to protect the face and chest, with your legs free to control your steering. A special wetsuit worn protects the knees and legs, plus with flippers for your feet. Once ready and equiped you can enjoy the most beautiful itineraries of the Soča with what is the perfect means to fully experience the river.

To practice this sport you do not need to attend a course or learn special techniques, what’s necessary instead is to have great confidence with water and to be a good swimmer. We use flippers to help steer and drive the hydrospeed float, so some experience is an advantage, but not necessary.

The Hydrospeeds that you will be given are without exception either made in foam or inflatable. Unlike the plastic ones which are generally supplied by the riversport companies these are very light, easy to handle, light to carry and much safer. They cannot be pierced, and therefore they are always perfectly float, offering a higher performance in terms of speed and maneuverability. Safety is guaranteed and fun is doubled!

The itineraries are chosen according to the river water levels and the ability of the participants, in a groups there are never more than 5 participants and the guides that will take care of you are selected to give you the best in terms of safety and fun on the water.

Our head office is located in Trnovo ob Soči, a small village surrounded by nature where peace still reigns, halfway between Kobarid and Bovec, in the middle of all the most beautiful itineraries. This means more time for hydrospeed and less time spent in transfers, considering that once the descent is over, in a few minutes you can get back to your car.

A cafe with services, a minimarket and free private parking for our guests complete the offer.
